02-04-2025 H.E. Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Dr. Sabih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizim visited the Al-Sabiya Power and Water Distillation Plant on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

The Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Dr. Sabih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizim, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil and the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Power Plants and Water Distillation Engineer Mohammed Khazal, inspected and congratulated the workers on duty during the Eid Al-Fitr period.

The delegation began its tour with a visit to the electrical control room, during which they reviewed the workflow and procedures followed and checked on the readiness of electrical power plants and water distillation for summer 2025. The acting director of the Al-Saniya station, M. Talal Al-Shammari, provided a detailed explanation of the work mechanism of the electrical control system at the station.

The tour included a visit to the steam turbine hall, the TCR room, and the control room of the distillation units. His Excellency was also briefed on the modernization work of one of the steam turbines, which has an installed production capacity of 7,100 MW and represents 35% of the total power produced for the State of Kuwait, and the water production capacity of 100 million imperial gallons per day.

In his speech, he explained that our national cadres are a source of pride for the ministry, and the power plants and water distillation sector is the backbone of the ministry through which the country's electricity and water needs are secured. He emphasized the importance of developing and qualifying the human element to be able to face any challenges in the electrical or water network. His Excellency thanked the Ministry’s employees for their dedication to their work, especially during periods of high demand. Dr. Sabih Al-Mukhaizim urged workers to work in a team spirit, which has a positive impact on the quality of work and the efficiency and sustainability of change.
