Today, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy held a meeting with a team of experts from the World Bank, headed by a team leader, Assistant Undersecretary for Electrical Distribution Networks, Engineer Khaled Al-Rashed, and Vice President Abdullah Al-Osaimi, to follow up on the implementation of the new reforms included in the World Bank’s 2024 program, which aims to improve the rank of the State of Kuwait in the Business Environment Program.
The Ministry reviewed all electronic systems that rely on advanced technology for managing, operating, and maintaining its assets, including the Geographic Information System (GIS), unified communication systems, and outage management. These systems were well received and admired by the World Bank and Direct Investment Promotion Authority teams.
These systems ensure the delivery of electricity and water services to investors with high reliability. Projects were also discussed, including the Ministry of Electricity and Water’s future renewable energy project and the project to purchase renewable energy produced by others.
Additionally, the timeline for implementing these projects, which would elevate the quality of the Ministry’s services provided to investors, was reviewed, as was the electronic services system developed by the Ministry, which serves all customer segments, including investors. This ensures easy access to electricity and water services as quickly as possible without the need to visit the Ministry’s headquarters.
Note that periodic meetings will be held soon with World Bank experts to continue work on implementing reforms required to raise and improve the State of Kuwait’s index in enhancing the business environment.
