He met with His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdelaziz Boushehri, along with the delegation of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Kuwait, Mr. Zhang Jianwei, in the presence of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asian Affairs, His Excellency Ambassador Samih Issa Johar Hayat. During the meeting, bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of energy between the State of Kuwait and China, as well as ways to develop them, were reviewed.

The renewable energy projects being implemented in China were discussed based on the strategic memorandum of understanding that was signed between the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy in the State of Kuwait and the National Energy Administration of the People’s Republic of China for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy.

In this regard, the executive plans to complete the third and fourth phases of the Shaqaya renewable energy project, which has a production capacity of 3,200 megawatts, as well as the Abdaliyah photovoltaic energy project, which is one of the important and rapid projects aimed at enhancing energy security in the country, were discussed.

The technical teams of both sides have been assigned to quickly complete the technical specifications in line with the specified timetable for the projects.
