As part of the Ministry’s participation in the State of Kuwait’s pavilion at the COP28 conference, representatives of the Ministry, Engineer Muhammad Bukhamseen and Engineer Faisal Al-Marzouq, presented visual presentations on the Ministry’s plan for future projects for the production, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy until the year 2040, which will keep pace with the requirements of future projects and urban development in the State of Kuwait.
Current and future renewable energy projects in the Al-Shaqaya area were also discussed, consisting of three types of photovoltaic panels, concentrated thermal solar, and wind energy. This project will contribute to enhancing the production of electrical energy in Kuwait, which will reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, which will lead to reducing carbon emissions resulting from electricity and water production processes. The production of which will reach 4,500 megawatts, and water desalination using reverse osmosis technology, which is considered less impactful on the environment than other production methods.
