His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Salem Falah Al-Hajraf, met with the CEO of the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Authority, Engineer Ahmed Al-Ibrahim, and a number of the Authority’s leaders, Engineer Muhammad Al-Sheikh (Vice President for Networks), Engineer Nasser Al-Shahrani (Vice President for Operations), and Engineer Abdul Mohsen Al-Musalami. (Director of Board Affairs).
The meeting came to discuss developing ways of cooperation between the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Authority, as this cooperation is of great importance in serving all the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in order to maintain the electrical network in the event of any emergency situations.
The most important current and future projects undertaken by the Authority to expand the Gulf electrical interconnection system were also discussed, the most important of which is increasing the interconnection capacity of the six countries.
In conclusion, Minister Al-Hajraf praised the great efforts made by the Authority to ensure the continuity of electrical energy for the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
