His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Salem Falah Al-Hajraf, made an inspection tour of the Subiya Electric Power and Water Distillation Station, accompanied by the Assistant Undersecretary for the Electric Power and Water Distillation Stations Sector in charge, Eng. Haitham Al-Ali.
He began his tour with a meeting with the station’s director and supervisors, during which he was briefed on the progress of work and the procedures followed, and was reassured about the readiness of the electric power and water distillation stations for the summer of 2024. The director of the Subiya station also assigned Eng. Talal Al-Shammari gave a detailed explanation of the mechanism of operation of the electrical control system in the station, which has a production capacity of 7,100 megawatts, representing 35% of the total energy produced in the State of Kuwait, and the water production capacity is 100 million imperial gallons per day.
He explained in his speech: “Our national cadres are a source of pride and honor for the Ministry, and the electric power stations sector is the backbone of the Ministry through which the country’s needs for electricity and water are secured.” He stressed the importance of developing the national human element and qualifying it scientifically and practically to enable it to face any challenges that may face securing sources of electrical energy and water.
