21-07-2024 Meeting of His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs with Ministry leaders.

His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aziz Boushahri, held a meeting with the ministry’s leaders to review the current status of electric power generation and water distillation plants, in addition to the latest developments regarding electrical and water networks.

He also touched on the electrical loads expected during the current and next month and ensured the Ministry's readiness to meet the needs of customers of all categories.

His Excellency reviewed the future directions of the Ministry with regard to generation projects for electric power, water desalination, renewable energy projects, and network development and smart meters, as well as the expected time period for their implementation and completion.

His Excellency stressed the importance of involving the private sector in electrical energy production projects, water distillation, whether traditional or renewable, similar to the successful experience of the North Al-Zour 1 station project.

On the other hand, His Excellency pointed out the need to raise community awareness about the importance of rationalizing consumption, especially during peak times in the summer. He also emphasized the importance of providing extensive information about the incentive program, which offers a discount on electricity and water bills in the event of proven rationalization of these vital resources.

The latest developments in financial and administrative matters were also discussed, focusing on raising efficiency in collecting the Ministry’s dues and following up on the executive position of tenders regulatory authorities and working to expedite them.

He added that qualifying and training all national cadres working in the ministry is one of the most important aspects and priorities during the next stage, especially for recent graduates. He urged the Ministry’s leadership to work in a team spirit and commit to quickly completing the assigned work in all sectors, and to work diligently to serve honorable citizens and residents in accordance with the controls and procedures followed.
