His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Bushehri, paid a site visit to the Al-Zour South Power and Water Distillation Station, accompanied by the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Power and Water Distillation Stations, Eng. Haitham Al-Ali. A meeting was held with the station manager, Eng. Dhaher Al-Saad, and a number of officials to review the progress of work at the station after a limited fire occurred in the recarbonization unit, which did not affect the production of electricity and water.

He also made an inspection tour of the gas turbine control room (Alstom) to follow up on the units’ entry into the electrical network. The fire site (recarbonization unit) was also visited to learn the initial information that led to its occurrence.
