12-06-2024 His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs inaugurates two offices in Jaber Al-Ahmad City and Jaber Al-Ali area

His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Bushehri, inaugurated this morning the Jaber Al-Ahmad City Office for Smart Meters System Management and Training and the Jaber Al-Ali Area Office for Customer Services.

In this context, the ministry stated that the Jaber Al-Ahmad City office will be a specialized center for monitoring electricity and water consumption for all customers according to their different sectors (private residential, commercial, investment, industrial, agricultural) through the smart meter system that provides instantaneous (instant) consumption readings, which will help such smart meters identify customer categories with heavy use of electricity and water, and then identify the reasons leading to this and work to address them in order to preserve these vital resources. It is worth noting that all statistical data will be provided to customers to compare their electricity and water consumption during the months of the year with those of the previous year to follow up on changes in consumption patterns. In addition, the office will include a high-level training and professional development center that aims to improve the performance of national cadres working in the ministry.

In addition to using the training center to hold interactive workshops with civil society institutions and initiators on all issues of interest to the ministry, especially awareness programs on the importance of rationalizing electricity and water consumption and using renewable energy in buildings and modern technology used in this regard.

On the other hand, the Ministry indicated that the Jaber Al Ali area office is dedicated to serving customers in the areas of (Jaber Al Ali, Hadiya, Raqqa, Aqila, and Dhaher), where the office provides all services related to consumer affairs, which include, but are not limited to: registering a new owner and connecting electricity, transferring the affiliation of meters from one owner to another, meter replacement services, collecting bills, scheduling debts, and issuing clearance certificates for customers.
