His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Bushehri, accompanied by the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry, Eng. Haitham Al-Ali, paid an inspection visit to the National Control Center this morning to review the progress of work and how the national electricity grid is managed, starting from production stations and reaching consumers.
The status of the electrical network and its readiness to deal with the increase in electrical loads during the summer were also reviewed.
The visit included the computer room, the communications room, the control and monitoring room, and the network operation room, all of which are concerned with monitoring the work of electric power stations, water distillation stations, and main transformer stations.
His Excellency the Minister confirmed in a press statement that the electricity situation is stable and the Ministry, with all its capabilities and cadres, is fully prepared to meet the country's electricity needs and deal with any emergency that may occur due to increased loads as a result of high temperatures, calling at the same time on all honorable customers to work on rationalizing consumption during peak periods extending from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, as this has a tangible impact on the sustainability of electricity.
In conclusion, His Excellency the Minister thanked all officials and technical cadres working in all sectors of the Ministry, praising their distinguished efforts.
