In the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil, the Ministry organized an exploratory visit for the ambassadors of Latin American countries to learn about the technology used for water desalination in the State of Kuwait, namely MSF flash distillation, reverse osmosis (RO), and multi-effect distillation (MED), to be applied in their countries to confront the water crisis expected to occur in Latin American countries in the coming years.

The distillers and the DCR control room at the Doha East Power and Water Distillation Plant were also visited, as were the reverse osmosis desalination system and its control room at the Doha West Power and Water Distillation Plant.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Adel Al-Zamel, expressed the Ministry’s readiness to transfer its expertise in the field of water, which exceeds 70 years, as the State of Kuwait is considered one of the leading countries in the field of desalination and production of high-quality water. The Ministry invited the ambassadors to hold a technical workshop that includes detailed data on water production operations in the State of Kuwait.

The ambassadors of the Latin American countries expressed their welcome, thanks and appreciation for this initiative and constructive cooperation to benefit from the State of Kuwait’s vast experience in the field of water desalination.
