Eng. Maha Al-As'oosi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy stated that on Monday, corresponding to 08/05/2023 the reception of low-sulfur oil (LSFO) began at the Southern Zour Station from the KIPIC - Zour Refinery, provided that the reception of low-sulfur oil (LSFO) starts successively in the rest of the electric power generation and water distillation stations.
She explained that Al-Zour KIPIC Refinery provided low sulfur oil (LSFO) with international environmental standards to meet the request of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy.
She added that this step will result in a reduction of sulfur emissions from electric power generation stations and water distillation in accordance with the requirements of the environmental protection law (42) of 2014.
Eng. Maha Al-As'oosi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy on assignment thanked Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) for the productive cooperation between them and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy.
