His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Bushehri, signed a contract for the maintenance of gas turbines at the Al-Zour South Electric Power and Water Distillation Plant, for (5) gas units and (2) steam units, with a production capacity of 1170 megawatts (MW), in order to meet Future consumers' needs for electrical energy.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy also emphasizes the necessity of rationalizing electricity and water consumption because of its positive impact on preserving the state’s natural resources and financial capabilities.
