His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulaziz Bushehri, chaired an expanded meeting with the leaders of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, with the aim of reviewing all the work of the Ministry’s sectors, in addition to the Ministry’s existing projects and contracts for the maintenance of electric power generation and water production stations, in addition to evaluating Comprehensive efficiency of power plants, water distillation plants, and electrical and water networks.

His Excellency the Minister also reviewed the Ministry’s preparations, represented by the technical staff and emergency teams, to confront the high demand for electrical energy during the summer period, which extends from June 1 to September 15, stressing at the same time the intensification of awareness campaigns for community members to rationalize electricity and water consumption, especially during the peak period, which usually begins at 11 p.m. 00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., which would directly contribute to reducing the burden on electrical loads.

His Excellency also stressed the importance of the Ministry developing sound visions about the State of Kuwait’s needs for electric power generation and water desalination plants according to the optimal demand for them and ensuring the creation of a stable, long-term balance between production and consumption, given the huge financial resources required by the process of building such plants.

His Excellency also pointed to working seriously without laxity to raise the rates of actual collection of the Ministry’s dues from consumers of electric energy and water.

His Excellency explained the necessity of developing an implementable plan according to a realistic timetable regarding the use of renewable energies in the process of producing electricity and water to be a substitute for traditional sources of production.

On the other hand, His Excellency stated the need to facilitate customer procedures without violating the applicable laws, regulations and procedures, with the possibility of specifying one day a week and during specific hours to receive them and consider their requests.

In conclusion, His Excellency expressed his pride in the distinguished national cadres of the Ministry’s employees, extending his sincere thanks and appreciation to them for the efforts they are making to develop work performance and improve the quality of services provided to all consumers.
